How to Get Rid of Phlegm in Your Throat

How to Get Rid of Phlegm in Your Throat, Chest and Sinus Cavities for good. What is the difference between Phlegm and Mucus? Phlegm and mucus are very similar and you can use one term or another and be easily understood. Mucus is a thick gooey substance that comes from a mucous membranes in your body, particularly the sinuses. Thick mucus can drain from your sinus cavities and drip into the back of your throat and thicken into phlegm. Phlegm is said to be a thicker mucus and can be a real health hazard as it can block your wind tube and stop you from breathing.

Dripping excess phlegm irritates your throat and and upper chest areas, and causes you to constantly hack out the excessive mucus so you can breathe and swallow normally. This excessive phlegm discharge can not only cause you to get a bad sore throat, but can cause sinus, throat and chest infections and colds as well. In severe cases it causes thick mucus plugs which lodge in your throat and make it impossible to breathe in or out.

Excessive Phlegm

It is very annoying (personally and socially) to have to deal constantly with Excessive Phlegm in Throat. You constantly feel the urge to clear the excess phlegm out of your throat. I know as I have had to do this many times in the past. You just want peace and yet you are forced to hack and try and keep your throat clear so you can breathe and swallow normally. It bothered me and other people would always turn around thinking I was trying to hack up a “Buick” or something.

I’ve had sinus problems since the late 1990’s (when they started regular aerial spraying – Geoengineering or Chem-trailing). The medical doctors just gave me medicines that only helped temporarily but caused other problems with side effects. And after using them for a few days, they didn’t work well anymore. I had to discover a real solution, not just a temporary fix. I got tried of constantly not being able to sleep well at night because of thick mucus that would wake me up chocking. And even getting mucus plugs a few times that was scary as hell.

What is a Mucus Plug?

What is a Mucus Plug? A mucus plug happens when thick mucus drains from your sinus cavities into your trachea (wind pipe) and completely “plugs it.” You suddenly can’t inhale or exhale, and most people panic. It can be life threatening if you can’t relax it in time or push any air out to free the mucus plug. It was literally one of the scariest things that has happened to me. I didn’t want to go through this anymore so I discovered natural solutions that have been working very well for me. No more scary mucus plugs!

I started by using pure eucalyptus oil diffuser as it thins mucus naturally. Then I started avoiding excess mucus producing foods like wheat, soy and dairy. I changed to organic food whenever I can now, as the pesticides are petroleum based oil products that produce excess mucus and phlegm. I also added some phlegm dissolving foods like citrus fruits, ginger, pineapple, papaya (that are all high in enzymes that can break up phlegm and mucus.) Warm teas can be beneficial as well. If you are dealing with any type of sinus infection or sinus allergies you should treat these as they can produce excess phlegm.

How to Reduce Phlegm

You can learn How to Reduce Phlegm naturally by drinking plenty of fluids, taking phlegm dissolving enzymes and using homeopathic remedies that restore the proper balance to your acid/alkaline balance in your body. Homeopathy is all about balance, and it helps your mast cells (those cells that produce mucus and phlegm) not over produce excess phlegm. I now juice raw ginger root and drink a shot every morning or when I need to clear my throat.

You can also take a ginger and add it to warm or hot water and get a phlegm thinning effect. If have sinusitis (or a sinus infection or allergy) you can also put your head over a cup of boiling water and inhale the hot steam to help thin mucus. I like adding essential oils to a diffuser clear up any sinus congestion. The Respiratory Relief formula is great to do that (organic essential oils for mucus thinning and congestion relief.)
